Surfix Pro® is a multifunctional fully menu
driven gauge with an external probe for the non-destructive coating
thickness measurement for varnish, paint, electroplated coatings etc.
on iron/steel and on non-ferrous metals. Surfix Pro® has
an extensive data memory for the management of different measurement
series. Alphanumerical file names including calibration settings can
be individually stored for every measurement task. A scan mode allows
the quick recongition of coating thickness variations on large surfaces.
The free choice of language ensures simple operation and save measurements.
|
 |
Surfix® with its measuring features corresponds
over a wide range to the Surfix Pro® version. Surfix®
has the same design and the similar menu structure including three
free selectable languages. Besides the data memory the measuring values
are statistically evaluated and are directly indicated on the display.

Pocket-Surfix® The hand-held coating thickness
gauge with integrated probe: compact - user-friendly - always at hand.
For sampling measurements on large surfaces. |
Surfix Pro® – go professional
|
What’s
so special about Surfix Pro®
Surfix
Pro® is a multifunctional mobile phone-type gauge for
fast, professional and precise coating thickness measurement for
- varnish,
paint and electroplated coatings on iron/steel and
- varnish,
paint and anodising coatings on non-ferrous metals, and on austenitic
stainless steels
The
recording and further processing of stored measurement data are
just as easy to carry out as the measurement itself. The file names
can be alphanumerically assigned via an input panel and managed
in a data memory.
|
 |
Never
has the operation been so easy and straightforward as with Surfix Pro®.
Similar to the menu control on mobile phones, the user receives clear
and understandable operating instructions via the display. The free choice
of language for operation and documentation makes the instrument handling
secure and reliable. The stored values can be transferred either via an
infra-red interface or with a cable to a printer or a PC.
The
world’s smallest measuring sensors guarantee reliable measurements even
on difficult geometries. The newly developed scan mode enables a continuous
coating thickness measurement for a quick assessment of large surfaces.
Where
to use Surfix Pro®?
Wherever
coatings are applied – whether on visual and aesthetic grounds, to prevent
corrosion protection, or for functional and mechanical reasons – the coating
thickness represents an essential quality feature. The Surfix Pro®
is ideal for speedy, non-destructive and exceptionally precise coating
thickness measurement.
Surfix
Pro® is used
- in
paintshops and for electroplaters
- in
the automobile industry and its supporting industry
- for
incoming material inspection, during production and for final inspection
- in
development engineering and expert assessments
- in
laboratory and field operation.
The
innovative design of the instrument features a clear and straightforward
operation and an easy-to-read display. The alphanumerical file names make
the data management easier and consequently ensure a quick access for
further processing.

Surfix® – With pleasure you
can measure
|
What´s
so special about Surfix® ?
The
Surfix® portable gauge is designed for fast, practical
and precise coating thickness measurement. It can be used for all
types of varnish, paint and electroplated coatings on iron and steel
as well as varnish, paint and anodising coatings on non-ferrous
metals and on austenitic stainless steels.
|
 |
The
Surfix® is suitable both for the laboratory and for use in
harsh field conditions. The built-in IP52 safeguards guarantee protection
against dust and dripping water. Never has gauge operation been so clear
and so straightforward! The Surfix® display uses the menu features
of a mobile phone to provide simple, user-friendly operating instructions.
A choice of languages - English, French or German - guarantees operator
confidence and cuts out errors caused by language misunderstandings.
The innovative probe construction ensures non-destructive measurement
of the most highly polished surfaces and soft coatings. Sensor contact
pressure is uniform and kept to a minimum, so surfaces remain free from
scratches and indentations.
With the Surfix®, data processing is just as easy as coating
thickness measurement. No cables required - data can be transferred to
a notebook or other equipment via an infrared interface. There is no need
for an unmanageable collection of leads and no time wasted in attaching
cables.
How
can you benefit from the Surfix®?
Wherever
coatings are applied - whether on visual and aesthetic grounds, to prevent
corrosion or for functional and mechanical purposes - coating thickness
represents one of the essential criteria of quality assessment.
The Surfix® is ideal for speedy, non-destructive and exceptionally
precise coating thickness measurement:
- in
paintshops and for electroplaters
- for
wet and powder coating operations
- in
the automobile/automobile parts industry

Coating thickness measurement on the car |
Compact
and innovative in its design, the Surfix® features a
clear overview of the operating menu with an easy-to-read display.
Simply place the probe on a coated metal object for immediate non-destructive
digital thickness measurement, unit-selectable in µm or mils.
The Surfix®is recommended for measurement of
- all
non-magnetic coatings such as varnish, paint, enamel, chrome,
copper, zinc etc, on steel and iron (magnetic-induction principle)
- all
electrically insulating coatings, such as lacquer, paint and anodising
coatings on non-ferrous metals and stainless steel (eddy current
principle)
|
- The
Surfix® is a compact, lightweight coating thickness gauge
for operators who require both innovative and user-friendly measuring
techniques.
- Menu
in a choice of three languages ensures ease of operation.
- The
Surfix® ensures non-destructive coating thickness measurement
on steel and non-ferrous metals.
- The
Surfix® automatically identifies the substrate and activates
the appropriate measuring procedure.
- No
cables required; data in the memory can be transferred via an infrared
interface for further processing.
- The
uniform contact pressure of the sensor is kept to a minimum, preventing
scratches and indentations to sensitive surfaces.
- Measuring
range: 0 - 1500 µm / 60 mils
- Up
to 10 000 readings can be statistically evaluated: number of readings,
mean value, standard deviation, minimum and maximum reading.
Statistical
evaluation with Surfix®
The
new ONLINE STATISTICS feature simultaneously displays the current reading
and the updated statistics in a choice of formats: either
| n
(number of readings) |
mean
(mean value) |
s
(standard deviation) |
| or |
|
|
| n
(number of readings) |
max
(highest reading) |
min
(lowest reading) |
The
first 80 readings and the statistical values are stored and can be displayed
as required.
|
Infrared
interface
An
infrared interface (IrDA standard) enables data to be downloaded
to a notebook with a corresponding infrared interface for further
processing. No more unmanageable cables and no time wasted in attaching
connecting leads!
An
optional infrared adapter also permits data transfer to a standard
PC (RS232) or printer (RS232).
