Beyond
The Normal Wireless Application
The
advantages of adding wireless data transmission to our product line are
obvious. With the increased freedom of movement, a safer work area and
reliable data transmission, our wireless system provides benefits for
a variety of inspection and manufacturing environments. For statistical
process control, wireless data transmission provides a seamless method
for collecting data. To get the best advantage from SPC data its
necessary to use the collected information right at the machining process
and prevent bad parts from being made.
Our
engineering department has been working in conjunction with Caron Engineering,
a supplier of software used to implement tool compensation in machine
tools. With integrated machine software from Caron and Mahr Federals
wireless gaging components and tools, measurements can now be sent wirelessly
to the machine controller for automatic tool compensation. This technology
provides an accurate and time saving platform for machine operators to
work in and help them to prevent bad parts from being made.

Features:
Secured data transmission with dialogue between receiver and sender
Acoustic and optical confirmation of receipt by the sender.
Compact sender is connected directly on the interface of the measuring
instrument
Power is supplied for the receiver via a USB-Interface on the PC
Up to 120 measuring instruments can be connected to the receiver
Radio transmission distance is from 10m up to 200m (depending on
the environment)
The
transmission of the measured value takes place via actuation of the DATA
button on the sender. The sender supplements the measured value with an
address number, a communication control word and a double check sum.
The special data coding and the feedback from the PC to the sender ensures
absolute data security.
A transmission error is recognized by the dialogue between PC and sender.
The data transmission is then repeated up to three times automatically
within a few milliseconds.
When
the data is successfully transmitted the green light on the sender flashes
and a short beep is heard confirming transmission.
