The tooling is designed to exactly align the surface finish drive and probe on main and pin journals, oil seal and rod ends on crankshafts;
no operator technique is required. A proprietary design provides probe protection during storage and insertion/removal onto the measuring area. This all adds up to fast, easy and foolproof roughness measurements in a shop environment.
