FARO and its international subsidiaries design, develop and market CAM2 systems and services for manufacturers of automotive, aerospace, industrial and consumer products worldwide. Principal products include the FaroArm, a six-degree-of-freedom articulating arm, a family of advanced CAD-based measurement and reporting software and the Control Station, an all-inclusive measurement system. The FaroArm is a portable, multi-axis measurement arm that has the flexibility to take measurements where you need it. The arm is available in a variety of sizes and accuracies, tailor made to fit your application. Designed for the shop-floor environment, the FaroArm is constructed with the highest quality aircraft aluminum, aiding in temperature compensation as well as durability. It can be mounted in a large variety of ways, from sliding rails, rolling stands, to actually on the parts or tooling.

FARO's Precision Rail provides a solution for extended measurement of up to 20 feet in length without sacrificing the accuracy of the Control Station attached to it. The Rail's integrated air-ride system allows it to move and adjust with ease. Once in place, external fasteners or hold-downs are unnecessary. It is also possible to integrate the Precision Rail into fixture setup for a multi-station checking cell. By positioning the Rail adjacent to multiple holding fixtures, a Control Station can measure a number of parts in one setup. This provides greater consistency of measurement, eliminates assembly time, and reduces costs by replacing the need for a separate measurement tool or a large-volume measurement device.

The "no-training required" Control Station is designed as a flexible, programmable check fixture for repetitive part inspection in any manufacturing environment. By simply following a green dot, operators are guided to all required measurement points on their part. This enables anyone to use the system anywhere. Measured data is then compared against original part specifications and displayed through tabular, graphical and SPC reports. The Control Station includes a Gold series FaroArm®; a touch screen computer; a digital camera; and Softcheck Tool™ software.
