Trip
Master Computerized Torque Control System
The TripMaster is the latest in a line of Computerized Torque Control
Systems manufactured by Connection Technology, Ltd. Compatible with Hydraulic,
Pneumatic or Manual Tongs the TripMaster offers an affordable method of
assuring that proper torque is applied to Casing, Tubing, Drill Pipe,
Drill Collar or Sucker Rod connections. Torque readings taken from an
in-line Load Cell are sampled at a rate of 2,500 per second. When a preset
value is reached, a Hydraulic or Pneumatic Dump Valve is activated with
a response time of 35 milliseconds. Mounted on the tong or at the drillers
console and operated by the tong operator or driller, the TripMaster displays
torque applied to the connection in "real time" through the
LCD screen. The TripMaster's 16 bit processor and solid state technology
monitors torque, "fires" an electronically activated dump valve,
and generates a hard copy report for permanent documentation.
