Large and Small Diameter
All
Allen Taper Gauges are adjustable to permit
measurement of a broad range of sizes. A simplified
design, when compared to the original style
gauges, results in a durable and stable lightweight
gauge frame. Through use of several common components,
these gauges maintain the required API accuracy
at a reduced cost. Gauges in this series have
a standard 5" throat depth which is of ample
length to cover all API casing, tubing and line-pipe
as well as the majority of API RSC joints. The
steel frame is lightweight, balanced and easy
to use. The positive locking system makes switching
to other diameter sizes simple and quick.
The
dial indicators have a travel of either 1/2"
or 1", graduated in 0.001" increments, with
a required API accuracy of 0.001" over their
entire range. The metric dial has graduations
of 0.01mm and complete compliance to API specifications
through the 25mm range. It also accepts the
complete range of Allen Contact Points.
All
taper gauges are furnished with 2 Allen Ball
Points, a certificate of compliance to API specifications
and a fitted box.
All
taper gauges, except the 5619 and 5624,
are furnished with a fitted carrying case.

rods. These allow the diameter range to be extended
in stepped increments that match the standard

points for various thread types.

Description: The 5554-E is an Internal Taper
Gauge. The 5554-E has a 1" dial range that allows
the user to inspect the larger tapered connections.
This gauge has a range of 5"- 14" Internal Diameter.
The 5554-E is unique due the fact that the range
is adjustable through the use of stainless steel
extension rods. The desired rod attaches to
the 5554-E Indicator allowing the gauge to be
able to inspect a wide variety of sizes by connecting
different rods.

Description: The 8191 is an Internal Taper Gauge
for use on API Casing, Tubing, and Line Pipe
in sizes from 1~8-5/8" ID, in addition it can
be used on small diameter API RSC and to check
ring groove diameters in couplings. The moving
arm utilizes linear bearings, similar to those
found on earlier models, to maintain a remarkably
smooth and stable 1" travel. This prevents arm
rotation for more accurate measurements up to
4-1/4" from the face. The lower sliding arm
quickly accommodates sizes from 1" to 8 5/8"
ID through a precision dovetail locking mechanism.
Naturally, it will also accommodate interchangeable
Tungsten Carbide contacts, allowing it to be
used on various thread types.
8192

Description: The 8192 is an Internal Taper Gauge
specially designed for use on API Rotary Shoulder
Connections. It can also be used on API Casing,
Tubing, and Line Pipe in sizes from 2~8-5/8"
ID as well as to check ring groove diameters
