5690-G
Gauge Type: External Lead Gauge,
4"
Thread Type: All API Thread types
Dial Type: 10~0~10, Balanced
Accuracy: 0.0002" over entire range
Dial Travel: 0.020"
Description: The 5690-G is used to check lead error
on any External API Thread Form. The latest series
of Lead Gauges feature reverse tension on the moveable
contact, which engages the load flank to simplify
measurements on Buttress Type Threads. High accuracy
coupled with the ability to make quick and precise
readings have made this a user favorite for decades.
The body of the 5690-G is chromed and contoured
to insure durability, which will allow it to be
a reliable tool for many, many years. Craftsmanship
in manufacturing and hand fitting in assembly allows
the gauge to read product errors of up to 0.010"
with an accuracy of 0.0002". Measurement is determined
by first "zeroing" the gauge on the second component
of the measuring system, a precision ground setting
standard. These are available in various pitches
and accommodated for specific tapers. The third
component, naturally, are the interchangeable contact
points. These are made of Tungsten Carbide and available
in the various diameters needed for pitch line contact.
Their spacing can be varied at ½" intervals for
a maximum cumulative lead measurement of 4". The
measurement taken then indicates the deviation from
the API Nominal. The Allen Lead Gauge, 5690 Series,
is without a doubt the top of line when it comes
to reliability, durability, and most of all precision.
5690-O
Gauge Type: Internal Lead Gauge,
4"
Thread Type: All API Thread types
Dial Type: 10~0~10, Balanced
Accuracy: 0.0002" over entire range
Dial Travel: 0.020"
Description: The 5690-O is used to check lead error
on any External or Internal API Thread Form and
therefore can be considered a universal Lead Gauge.

5690-GM
Gauge Type: External Lead Gauge,
101mm
Thread Type: All API Thread types gauge utilizes
interchangeable Ball Points
Dial Type: 10~0~10, Balanced
Accuracy: 0.005mm over entire range
Dial Travel: 0.5mm
Description: The 5690-GM is used to check lead error
on the External API Threads. The 5690-GM is designed
with extremely high accuracy, and the ability to
make quick and precise readings. This is guaranteed
due to the high degree of craftsmanship used in
the assembly of these carefully machined and hand
fitted gauges. The 5690-GM accuracy allows the gauge
to read product errors up to 0.25mm from 0.005mm.
The 5690-GM indicates product error so it must be
used in conjunction with the proper Setting Standards,
which are available in various pitches and accommodated
for specific tapers. By first "zeroing" your 5690-GM
on the proper setting standard, the product error
is read on the dial. The measurement taken then
indicates the deviation from the API Nominal. The
range of this gauge is 101mm with per inch measurements,
which is accomplished by varying the spacing of
the interchangeable Ball Points at 12mm intervals.
The Lead Setting Standards that are required to
be used in conjunction with the Lead Gauge are also
designed with readings at 12mm intervals up to 101mm.
The body of the 5690-GM is chromed and contoured
to insure durability, which will allow the 5690-GM
to be a reliable tool for many, many years. Also,
all of the Lead Gauges feature reverses tension
on the moveable contact, which simplifies handling
on Buttress Type Threads. The Allen Lead Gauge,
5690 Series, is without a doubt the top of line
when it comes to reliability, durability, and most
of all precision.
5690-OM
Gauge Type: Internal Lead Gauge,
101mm
Thread Type: All API Thread types gauge utilizes
interchangeable Ball Points
Dial Type: 10~0~10, Balanced
Accuracy: 0.005mm over entire range
Dial Travel: 0.5mm
Description: The 5690-OM is used to check lead error
on the Internal API Threads. The 5690-OM is designed
with extremely high accuracy, and the ability to
make quick and precise readings. This is guaranteed
due to the high degree of craftsmanship used in
the assembly of these carefully machined and hand
fitted gauges. The 5690-OM accuracy allows the gauge

The 5690-OM indicates product error so it must be
used in conjunction with the proper Setting Standards,
which are available in various pitches and accommodated
for specific tapers. By first "zeroing" your 5690-OM
on the proper setting standard, the product error
is read on the dial.
The body of the 5690-OM is chromed and contoured
to insure durability, which will allow the 5690-OM
